In the heart of San Francisco, a piece of living history continues to bloom every summer.
After the Summer of Love faded and the neighborhood faced hard times, a group of committed citizens — with the encouragement of Harvey Milk — launched the first Haight Ashbury Street Fair in 1978. Thousands gathered at the corner of Haight and Ashbury to celebrate community, art, and resilience.
Today, over four decades later, the Haight Ashbury Street Fair (HASF) remains a beacon of creativity, culture, and community — powered by volunteers, neighborhood businesses, artists, musicians, and partners like you.
